Part-Time Associate Veterinarian

Part‑Time Associate Veterinarian – Meadow Vista Veterinary Clinic PetVet Care Centers provides compassionate veterinary care across 420 hospitals nationwide. We are recruiting a part‑time veterinarian for our Meadow Vista, California location. Position Overview As a part‑time veterinarian you will have predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. You will work alongside a locally led team supported by national resources while maintaining clinical engagement and work‑life balance. Hospital Overview Meadow Vista Veterinary Clinic has served families and their pets since 1948. It offers a full suite of services including wellness exams, vaccinations, dentistry, surgery and grooming. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient examinations and develop medical work‑ups. Communicate with clients and educate them about care options. Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries. Maintain accurate medical records. Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities. Assess hospital protocols from intake to discharge and monitor case progress. Attend daily rounds to uphold standards. Participate in practice management updates and training. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution. Current state veterinary license. DEA registration. Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic, surgical and dental skills. Team‑oriented work style and excellent interpersonal skills. Clear, timely communication with staff and clients. Capacity to manage client expectations and handle stressed or ill pets with confidence. Physical ability to perform moderate duties, including occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lb. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Advanced clinical assessment and treatment planning across systems. Problem‑solving and operational improvement in a veterinary setting. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff. Professionalism, constructive feedback, and teamwork. Basic business acumen for hospital practices. Ethical decision making guiding patient care. Commitment to continuing education and peer learning. Compensation Overview Full‑time salary range: $160,000–$190,000. Part‑time compensation prorated based on experience and hours worked. No non‑compete clause; no negative accrual. Benefits and Incentives Signing and retention incentives up to $50,000.
