Duties

  • Performs a variety of administrative HR support work from routine to assisting in the development of new or novel processes or procedures that impact all areas in the G-1.
  • Works with team members providing administrative support on correspondence, reports, and research.
  • Provides assistance to the supervisor and team members in a variety of functional areas such as workforce development, employee development and demonstration project development.
  • Researches and resolves a variety of non-complex human resource problems.
  • Uses automation tools in support of human resources assignments.
  • Conducts web research and utilizes a variety of website resources to research and analyze information.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying knowledge of human resources terminology, operations, and/or functions; AND 2) Providing administrative support on correspondence, reports, and/or research. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DK-01 (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.   • This position is a Term Appointment Not to Exceed 6 years - Renewable Term Appointment and may be made permanent without further competition. The position may be extended, without limit, in up to 6 year increments. Incumbents may compete as "status" candidates in the federal service in accordance with Section 1109(b)(1)(B) of NDAA for FY 2016.
  • Army employees who accept a time-limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. There are no return/reemployment rights to the position vacated prior to accepting the time-limited appointment. Permanent Army employees who accept such time-limited appointment opportunities will be expected to sign a statement of understanding to acknowledge the associated impacts to their permanent status.
