Legal Counsel - Commercial and Supply Chain

Job Summary:Weatherford has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Houston, supporting both our North America commercial operations and supply chain. This role will be responsible for advising business stakeholders on legal risks and strategies across a wide range of commercial and supply chain matters. The Legal Counsel will support the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts, working closely with commercial, supply chain, operations, and functional teams. Location: Houston, Texas Reports to: Senior Contracts Manager – North America ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Contractual SupportReview, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer and supply chain contracts, with a focus on oilfield servicesProvide practical and timely advice to business stakeholders on contractual and commercial mattersSupport the Legal Contracts Managers in identifying legal risks and recommending mitigation strategiesAssist in the development and maintenance of standard contract templates, playbooks, and legal process improvementsDraft legal risk assessment memos and coordinate internal approval workflowsAdvise on real estate transactions and lease agreements in coordination with internal stakeholdersPrepare periodic reports and updates for senior legal and business leadershipSupport legal contracts training for internal stakeholdersSkills/Education Required:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law schoolLicensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (preferably Texas)3–6 years of relevant experience in commercial law, preferably in the oil and gas or energy services sectorStrong understanding of legal risks in oilfield services operations and contractingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with legal technology tools, such as iManage and Legal TrackerAbout Us:Weatherford is a leading global energy services company.
