Under the direction of the Business Taxes Administrator III, the Business Taxes Specialist II is responsible for:

• Planning, distributing, and evaluating the workload for the Appeals and Data Analysis Branch.
• Developing policies and procedures, conducting tax program policy research, and explaining complex tax issues to major taxpayers and their representatives.
• Preparing legislative proposals, analyzing legislation, and developing related costing, budget change proposals, and implementation plans.
• Serving as a liaison with executive management, federal and state agencies, legislative staff, lobbyists, and trade organizations.
• Acting as lead on various projects and performing other job-related duties as required.
• In-state and out-of-state travel may be required up to twenty percent (20%) of the time, and may include evenings, weekends, and/or overnight travel.
