Montefiore is actively investing in its data & analytics driven solutions as a new system-level priority, and we are seeking data experts who are excited to create a tangible impact with the healthcare system.The Senior Manager for Data Engineering is a hands-on role that will play a pivotal role at the forefront of our data and analytics technology transformation initiatives. We are seeking a senior manager with experience in data engineering to build, enhance, and support a wide variety of data pipelines integrating data feeds from diverse internal and external sources. You will lead our suite of enterprise data products supporting business cases across the Montefiore health system. This role with managerial responsibilities will work with complex data solutions in a rapidly evolving data landscape enhancing the team onboarding more data engineers as needed to support the fast-paced environment effectively. This role is critical to scaling our data and insights capabilities, empowering teams with actionable insights, and supporting our mission to improve Patient healthcare.**Responsibilities include:**• Design, build, and automate robust, scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading both structured and unstructured data from diverse internal and external data sources• Design, Develop and support data models and schemas to support data integration and analysis. Promote and uphold data engineering best practices, standards, and data governance throughout the organization.• This hands-on role will build and deliver highly performant and scalable data products across clinical, operational, financial, and other functional areas enabling data driven decision making across the health system.• Provide thought leadership & strategic thinking to design and enablement of Montefiore’s next generation data eco-system.• Implement CI/CD pipelines and best practices for data engineering assets, supporting robust deployment, monitoring, and version control.• Design and implement of rules driven data quality components that supports enhanced observability, transparency, and robust remediation workflows, enabling rapid identification and resolution of data issues• Lead and Mentor team members fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, data scientists, BI developers, and application teams, to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.**Qualifications include:**• Minimum of 12 years of rich experience in data engineering, modern data architecture patterns, developing and supporting high-volume data pipelines, while ensuring data availability and accuracy• At least 4+ years of solid experience in Snowflake development, and SQL is a must.• Experience with cloud-based ELT Toolsets like Matillion, dbt cloud and data transformation components using Python SDK• Managerial experience leading and mentoring a team of data engineers• Expertise in translating complex clinical, operational, financial, and administrative datasets into enterprise-grade data products, data modeling techniques, and performance analysis & tuning.• Experience with AWS Cloud, S3, DevOps, Git management, Oracle and SQL Server• Experience with EPIC Cogito Analytics stack (Clarity, Caboodle etc.) is preferred• Knowledge in healthcare preferably in a health system domain• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or similar.**Competencies:**• Ability to think strategically and drive structured execution• Structured, linear thinker that can conduct business outcome diagnostics and identify highest value business opportunities• Strong facilitation skills to help business leaders identify their most important business questions• Exhibits excellent judgment, especially when working with ambiguity.• Sets stretch goals and works to exceed goals with a focus for results.• Has the innate ability to gain the confidence of and build strong relationships with executives, peers, management and subordinates alike.• Excellent business-facing presentation skills.Montefiore Health System, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
