ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Weekly Ad & Promotional Pricing

• Maintain and execute the weekly price book and promotional pricing process.
• Enter, update, and verify weekly ad prices, promotional prices, temporary price reductions, and other approved pricing changes.
• Ensure all weekly ad items are accurately reflected in the pricing system prior to the effective date.
• Review upcoming ad changes for accuracy, including item number, description, UPC, regular price, promotional price, effective dates, and applicable stores.
• Coordinate weekly ad price changes with the Pricing & Promotions Manager and Merchandising team.
• Prepare and maintain weekly pricing files and reports.
• Verify that all approved pricing changes have been successfully loaded into the appropriate systems.
• Identify and resolve pricing discrepancies after the ad goes live.
• Support the weekly ad calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.

Price Book Maintenance

• Maintain accurate item pricing information within the company’s pricing and merchandising systems.
• Create, update, and discontinue price book items as requested and approved.
• Maintain regular retail prices, promotional prices, cost information, effective dates, and other relevant item attributes.
• Ensure pricing information is consistent across applicable stores and systems.
• Monitor price changes for accuracy and investigate unusual or incorrect pricing.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for pricing changes.
• Assist with new item setup and item maintenance as needed.
• Ensure inactive, discontinued, or obsolete items are properly updated in the system.

Data Analysis & Auditing

• Conduct regular audits of pricing data to identify errors, inconsistencies, and potential margin issues.
• Compare current pricing against prior weeks, approved pricing, vendor information, and promotional plans.
• Analyze pricing reports to identify unusual price changes or data discrepancies.
• Research and resolve pricing issues reported by stores, customers, or internal departments.
• Prepare pricing reports and provide analysis to management as requested.
• Track pricing errors and identify recurring issues or opportunities for process improvement.
• Assist with monitoring promotional performance and pricing accuracy.

Cross-Functional Support

• Partner with the Pricing & Promotions Manager to execute the weekly pricing strategy.
• Work closely with Category Managers and Merchandising to confirm promotional pricing and effective dates.
• Collaborate with Marketing to ensure advertised pricing aligns with approved promotional materials.
• Partner with Store Operations to research and resolve pricing issues at store level.
• Work with IT and/or systems support to troubleshoot pricing system issues.
• Communicate pricing changes, corrections, and important updates to appropriate departments.
• Provide support during major promotional events, holidays, seasonal programs, and special campaigns.

Compliance & Accuracy

• Ensure pricing changes are processed according to company policies and approval procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of pricing, cost, margin, and promotional information.
• Follow established controls to prevent unauthorized pricing changes.
• Ensure pricing data is accurate and available within required deadlines.
• Escalate significant pricing errors or system issues to the Pricing & Promotions Manager promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in pricing, merchandising, retail, grocery, data entry, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict weekly deadlines.
• Strong Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and working with large data sets.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate the source of data errors.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience working in a grocery or supermarket environment.
• Experience with retail pricing, price books, promotional systems, or merchandising systems.
• Experience with weekly advertising and promotional programs.
• Experience with retail POS, ERP, merchandising, or pricing systems.
• Experience working with UPC/item master data.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work at a corporate office for extended periods.
• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and telephone regularly.
• Occasional travel to company stores may be required.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
