Job Description

This role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. The industrial electrician ensures that machinery and electrical infrastructure operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Install industrial electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, outlets, switchgear, and related components in a chemical manufacturing plant and other industrial environments.
• Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues such as malfunctioning equipment, power disruptions, and control system failures, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Diagnose and resolve process issues, especially those involving instrumentation and electrical systems, using control system terminology and documentation.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical wiring diagrams, process logic diagrams, control logic diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation to plan and execute work accurately.
• Install, run, pull, and terminate wiring and conduit, including bending and routing conduit to support new installations and system modifications.
• Support upgrades and modifications to existing electrical systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance with current standards.
• Perform repairs on electrical components, instrumentation, and control systems to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
• Apply knowledge of industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code to ensure all work meets safety and regulatory requirements.
• Operate a forklift and other job-related equipment safely to move materials, tools, and components as needed.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and programming of control equipment, leveraging experience with systems such as Delta-V when applicable.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment, and contribute to a safe, compliant work environment.

• Proficiency in industrial electrical work, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, low-voltage systems, switchgear, and industrial power distribution.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical wiring diagrams, process logic diagrams, control logic diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Fluency in control system terminology and the ability to apply it in practical work situations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in diagnosing and resolving instrumentation and electrical issues in industrial processes.
• Experience with conduit work, including conduit bending, running conduit, and pulling wire.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment integral to job tasks.
• Capability to perform basic troubleshooting and programming of control equipment; Delta-V experience is a plus.
• Ability to complete and pass a Fit for Duty examination and a respirator fit test, including wearing a respirator during strenuous physical activity.
• Ability to meet Hearing Conservation Program requirements.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods, climb, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to work at heights above 50 feet, including on ladders and lifts.

• Experience working in industrial or chemical manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working in a large, unionized facility.
• Attention to detail and strong adherence to safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support continuous plant operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to process and equipment issues.

You will work a stable first-shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, supporting a large industrial operation with a structured, unionized environment. Work Environment

The position is based in a large chemical manufacturing plant within a unionized work environment. You will work primarily on-site around industrial machinery, electrical systems, and process equipment. The schedule follows a first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role requires regular standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching overhead, often with repetitive motions. You must be comfortable lifting up to 55 pounds without assistance and working at heights above 50 feet on ladders and lifts. The environment may involve exposure to chemicals, noise, and the need to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator for certain tasks, in accordance with Fit for Duty, respirator fit test, and Hearing Conservation Program requirements.

The pay range for this position is $89585.60 - $89585.60/yr.
