NDT Trainee

Brief Summary:

The NDT Trainee takes rejected pipes and identifies and corrects defects to produce a product that can be sold.

Responsibilities:
• Follows written and verbal instructions as to what the daily assignments will consist of.
• Work areas will vary between. ID grind, Hem Saw, Gag Straightener or stations setup in the yard. Locations will depend on tasks being performed.
• Tracking and maintaining pipe traceability.
• Make sure that the product is properly identified by managing stencils, labels, and painted bands.
• Use and maintain grinder for smoothing and correcting pipe
• Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
• Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Three months related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.
• Preferred NDT experience

Physical Requirements:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
