In this leadership role, you'll coordinate and support associates handling inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring products are staged, loaded, received, and transported correctly. You'll play a key part in maintaining quality, safety, and workflow while working with raw and/or cooked packaged products. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).In addition to hourly wages, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.Principal Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesReceive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.Unload and load trucks, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.Ability to accurately document and track inventory.Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are securely packed and labeled correctly.Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve any issues or discrepancies.Minimum Education and ExperienceAt least 1 year of continuous work experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations.Previous experience in operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.Ability to pass forklift/pallet jack certification courses offered by Perdue.Preferred Education and ExperienceHigh School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.2+ years' experience in a distribution warehouse.Current forklift/pallet jacket certificationPhysical Requirements and Environmental FactorsWhen in a plant environment:Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.May handle products varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.Perdue Farms Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
