Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This is a full-time opening for a Nurse Practitioner for a growing mental health agency in Jacksonville, FL. Our approach is to match patients with ideal services and providers before receiving direct care. We offer therapies ranging from psychotherapy to psychiatry, including programs such as psychosocial rehabilitation, EMDR, and group therapy. We strive to deliver care with integrity and compassion for patients and employees, helping children, adults, and families live better lives. Role involves diagnosing, conducting, and prescribing medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health concerns, and providing emergency psychiatric services, as well as physical and psychosocial examinations. Responsibilities Diagnose, conduct examinations, and prescribe medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health issues. Provide emergency psychiatric services and physical/psychosocial assessments. Work independently with other medical team members with clinical privileges approved by the Medical Executive Board. Participate in an interdisciplinary team delivering primary care to employees and patients. Take patient histories and physicals, perform risk factor assessments, order tests, and coordinate consultations and appointments. Prescribe medications following clinic policy and relevant state regulations. Consult with physicians on cases beyond the PMHNP scope of practice. Document patient data in medical records and prepare case presentations. Develop, execute, and review healthcare education for patients and families to prevent diseases. Ensure clear communication with other health professionals to deliver clinic services effectively. Provide consultation to nursing and medical staff to improve work performance and service quality. Communicate in English with patients, families, clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals. Qualifications Experience working with patients of all ages and with Suboxone. Ability to provide outpatient and residential care for patients with changing or declining mental status or chronic/urgent medical conditions. Ability to work independently with clinical privileges approved by the clinic's Medical Executive Board. Graduate professional nurse and nurse practitioner registration in good standing in a state, unrestricted and active. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the ANCC. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program. Strong understanding of social factors affecting mental health; problem-solving and patient monitoring skills. Compassionate with strong reasoning and communication abilities; proficient in computer skills and medical software.
