Travel RN - ICU

This is a travel RN position in the ICU department. The unit has 26 beds with a typical census of 20-24 patients. The staffing includes 10-12 RNs, a Charge Nurse, and a Patient Care Tech during the day shift. The night shift has 10-12 RNs and a Charge Nurse. Patient ratios are typically 1:2, with occasional 1:1 and 1:3 assignments. The unit utilizes equipment such as Impella, balloon pumps, CRRT, TTM, and EVDs. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Preferred qualifications include prior Meditech experience and experience traveling to large facility ICUs. Typical procedures performed in the unit include heart catheterizations, balloon pumps, Impella use, TTM, cardioversion, EVD insertion, thrombectomies, coiling procedures, central line placements, and arterial line placements. Medications managed include vasoactives, sedatives, and paralytics. The ideal candidate is driven, organized, and efficient with a positive attitude. Bedside shift report is mandatory for this role. Multidisciplinary rounding is also a requirement. This position is created due to peak period demands.
