To succeed as the Chair of Clinical Sciences, you should have: DO (preferred) or MD/MD-equivalent with AOA/ABMS board certification and maintenance of certification, and eligibility to practice in Illinois actively. Minimum of five years of experience in academic medicine with demonstrated leadership in clinical education or department management. Expertise in curriculum design, assessment, accreditation standards, and integration of innovative teaching modalities such as TBL, PBL, flipped classroom, simulation, and ultrasound. Proficiency in clinical practice with an understanding of OPP/OMM preferred, combined with experience guiding student and faculty development. Proven research and scholarly activity, including the ability to contribute to academic publications and educational innovation. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, strategic planning, and organizational abilities, with willingness and capacity to travel as required. Your responsibilities as the Chair of Clinical Sciences will include: Lead and mentor faculty across all clinical divisions, supporting recruitment, retention, development, and scholarly activity. Oversee curriculum design and implementation across four years, ensuring integration of clinical, research, and OPP/OMM components. Manage course delivery, assessment, and grading while promoting high student satisfaction and clinical relevance. Conduct departmental strategic, financial, and operational planning, including budget oversight and resource allocation. Build and maintain community, alumni, and professional partnerships while representing the department in local, regional, and national organizations.
