The Job Description

As the Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the accounting department along with other teams at the company. You will focus on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations. You will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities.

You will report directly to the Financial Controller and have the opportunity to present to the CFO. Higher performers will have a path to Senior Staff Accountant after 2 years of excellent work.

Key Responsibilities

Transactional Accounting

• Maintain accurate and up to date financial transaction data within our ERP.
• Complete monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable

• Record customer invoices and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances to support timely collections.
• Input vendor bills and maintain accurate accounts payable records to support timely and accurate payments.
• Prepare and process vendor payments for materials, services, and other company expenses.

Month-End Accounting

• Assist with the monthly close process by ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and accounts are reconciled timely.
• Prepare financial reports and provide accurate and detailed information to the Financial Controller.

Commission Processing

• Process commission payments on a monthly basis to ensure all contractors are paid timely and accurately.
• Create journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts based on payroll records.

• 1+ years of full-time bookkeeping or accounting experience

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and account reconciliations

• Denver, CO based– we are currently not considering candidates re-locating

Strongly Preferred

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with ERP systems

• Compensation: $68,000 - $76,000
• Benefits: Health Plan (60% of premiums), 3% Match of IRA
• PTO: Unlimited
