Expert Contributor - Mechanical Engineering

Engineering & Maintenance Manager Provides oversight and management of field engineering services within a geographical operating region. The activities include managing people, finances, and other resources needed to maintain customer relationships, employee growth, revenue growth, system reliability, and system improvements. Responsibilities Provides administrative, management, and technical oversight of distribution design and field engineering (Power Quality, voltage issue resolution, feeder-level distribution planning, contingency switching, reliability programs, etc.). Manages group resources to achieve maintenance, reliability, and financial goals, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and budgetary controls. Provides operational support at the jurisdictional and network level to improve customer satisfaction and reliability performance, and offers technical expertise to local jurisdictions on matters arising from regulatory agencies. Delivers training and coaching to the work group so that all employees understand company policies, procedures, and applicable codes for designing and maintaining electrical distribution facilities. Manages special and large projects including process development, storm restoration, and other ad hoc jurisdictional and system assignments. Leads emergency response and storm restoration efforts, overseeing 24/7 engineering response to support operations. Oversees day‑to‑day needs of the Metro Region Engineering workgroup for reliability and resiliency efforts, fostering customer centricity and technical aptitude among team members. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 5–8 years of experience with proven leadership or significant project management experience. Professional Engineering license strongly preferred, varying by state. Preferred Qualifications People skills, excellent communication with internal and external customers and employees. Positive attitude, willingness to learn independently, and strong supervisory and interpersonal skills. Experience with New Orleans City Council and CBD is preferred. Working Conditions As a provider of essential services, the company expects employees to be available for additional hours, alternate locations, and additional duties during storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary.
