Materials Planner

Job Summary Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Impact quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Focus on execution of standard enabling activities and provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. May rearrange the sequence of tasks based on changing situations. Responsibilities Place and follow up on purchase orders. Manage relationships with suppliers for purchase order execution. Resolve problems and schedule changes. Update enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Expand knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline to execute functional policy and strategy. Use basic understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work. Understand how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Exercise defined autonomy to make decisions within a framework. Resolve issues requiring knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for issues outside defined policy or parameters. Maintain strong customer relationships and serve as interface between customer and GE (for customer‑facing roles). Explain technical information to others. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Experience with parts procurement and material handling. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to review and work with materials and related documentation to support compliance and operational needs. General awareness of chemical handling and purchasing considerations. Familiarity with aircraft parts documentation and certification requirements, including Certificates of Conformity, FAA Form 8130‑3, and other aviation‑specific documents. Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship for employment visas, now or in the future. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this position is $94,600 – $143,000 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary or commission according to the plan. The posting is expected to close on September 19th, 2026.
