About the Position

Our client in Alaska is seeking a skilled Optometrist for a 120-day assignment. This role involves a weekly schedule from Tuesday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The Optometrist will primarily manage patient care, including contact lens fittings, foreign body removal, routine eye exams, glaucoma checks, cataract evaluations, and various emergency and pre-operative visits.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform contact lens fitting and follow-up.
• Conduct foreign body removal procedures.
• Administer routine eye exams, with or without dilation.
• Perform glaucoma checks and cataract evaluations.
• Manage emergency visits, including eye infections and pink eye.
• Conduct pre-operative visits.

Additional Information

• Required Board Certification: Optometry
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• EMR: Cerner
• Setting: Outpatient (Clinic Only)
• Call Schedule: No Call
• Patients per day: Average 10-12, maximum 15 (with 2 doctors working)
• LOA: 120 Days
• Staffing Mix: 1 MD, 1 office manager, 3 para-optometric certified staff
