RN New Graduate Nurse- Acute Rehabilitation

Job Overview Hillsborough Hospital is hiring RN New Grad Nurses to join our Acute Rehabilitation Unit team! Seeking nursing graduates to start Fall 2026. This opportunity is for a new‑grad nurse who is currently in their final semester of nursing school or who has graduated within the past twelve months and has worked as an RN for less than six months. Applicants must hold a RN license in North Carolina prior to the first day of employment. A resume detailing clinical rotation hours and a cover letter indicating the primary clinical interest are strongly encouraged. Key Responsibilities Provide competent and compassionate clinical nursing care to patients with a wide range of diagnoses including spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, strokes, trauma, and cancer. Participate in identifying learning needs, attending education programs, and using patient‑education materials appropriate to the patient population. Assess patient readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting learning; collaborate with families and caregivers. Identify expected patient outcomes, revise plans of care as needed, and engage in interdisciplinary discussions to evaluate patient care. Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, perform bedside point‑of‑care testing, and prioritize care based on patient and family needs. Consult appropriate resources for complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and high‑risk discharge planning. Develop professional goals, achieve objectives within set timeframes, and contribute to unit goals and performance‑improvement activities. Utilize communication systems to promote cost‑effective, safe, clean, and secure care and give constructive feedback to co‑workers. Recognize and synthesize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs. Collaborate with patients and families to plan or update the plan of care, using multidisciplinary resources and addressing cultural and ethnic issues. Read relevant journals, bring insights to the team, and assess applicability to practice. Qualifications Graduated from a professional nursing school; if hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a Master’s degree in Nursing within seven years of the employment date. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina by the day of clinical care. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. No prior nursing experience required. Strong commitment to patient‑centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
