General Laborer Concrete Production

This entry-level General Laborer role supports concrete production in a manhole manufacturing area at a precast concrete plant in York, PA. You work on a daytime, weekday shift performing both repetitive and skilled construction tasks, including preparing and cleaning molds, handling concrete materials, and assisting with finishing operations. The position requires regular heavy lifting and offers the opportunity to learn new skills and grow into specialty areas within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks in the manhole production area, supporting daily concrete manufacturing operations.
• Break down molds of concrete pieces that have cured overnight, safely removing finished products from forms.
• Pull out green (uncured) concrete from molds, ensuring proper handling and minimizing damage to materials and forms.
• Clean and prepare molds after each use by scraping out excess concrete, removing debris, and prepping forms for the next pour.
• Set up molds for production, including positioning and securing rebar with spacers according to specifications.
• Operate saws and other basic construction tools as needed to cut or trim concrete and related materials.
• Assist in smoothing and finishing poured concrete during the second part of the day so pieces can cure overnight.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area by sweeping, shoveling, and removing concrete scraps and other waste materials.
• Use a tape measure and basic math skills to take accurate measurements, including angles and conversions, down to 1/16" precision.
• Lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing 50 pounds or more regularly throughout the workday in a safe manner.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working around concrete, dust, and machinery.
• Collaborate with a small team of production workers, communicate effectively, and support continuous workflow in the plant.
• Learn new skills and processes quickly, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to improvements in quality and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
