Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Long Term Care Pharmacist position based in Valencia, PA, offering a 3-month contract-to-hire arrangement. The role focuses on supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care through precise medication management and clinical support.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Sunday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Review medication orders entered by data entry technicians to ensure accuracy for various care settings
- Verify packaged medications, including blister packs, as well as sterile and non-sterile medications
- Respond promptly to inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance
- Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records
- Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in good standing within Pennsylvania
- Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience, with preference given to candidates with Long Term Care (LTC) experience
- Proficient with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds
