Job Description

My client is an established specialty contractor performing concrete restoration, parking garage rehabilitation, waterproofing, façade and masonry restoration, and structural repairs throughout NJ, NY and PA. The Senior Estimator will lead estimating and preconstruction by reviewing project documents, developing estimates, evaluating costs and risks, preparing bids, and supporting project handoffs.

Responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop complete estimates

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits

Evaluate labor, materials, equipment, access, staging and phasing

Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations

Identify scope gaps, risks and value-engineering opportunities

Prepare bid packages and proposals

Participate in bid reviews and project handoffs to operations

Project Management

Required

5+ years of construction estimating and/or project management experience

Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

Strong understanding of construction means, methods and costs

Experience with Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift or similar estimating software

Organized, detail-oriented and able to independently manage multiple bids

Preferred

Experience in concrete restoration, waterproofing, parking garages, façade or masonry restoration, or similar specialty construction strongly preferred
