Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Must-Have: Applicants need to have trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience due to trauma status. Applicants must be willing to cover one night shift within their contract as needed. Description: This position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse. The nurse will work in an acute care setting with a focus on trauma, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, and general surgeries. The nurse will be required to participate in on-call shifts. Call will be distributed equally among all nursing staff every six weeks, which could amount to 6-8 shifts during that time. Weekend shifts are required. The nurse will float between like units as needed. The ideal candidate should be experienced in handling a variety of surgical cases and support interdisciplinary teams. Key procedures performed in this unit include abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, hysterectomy, orthopedic surgeries, neuro surgeries, and various vascular procedures. The nurse must adhere to universal protocols and infection control standards. The unit will generally be staffed with two personnel during night shifts. The nurse will have opportunities to work with advanced surgical technologies, including robotics. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work during major holidays as needed. References from previous employment will be required for compliance. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities if necessary. The facility offers free parking and various interdisciplinary support services. Candidates should prepare for housing arrangements in the area prior to starting the position.
