Automation Technician

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Technician to support and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment within a fast-paced industrial environment. This individual will be responsible for maintaining PLC-controlled systems, robotics, HMIs, drives, sensors, and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical and controls troubleshooting experience who enjoys working hands-on with automation systems and continuous improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systemsDiagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issuesSupport Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platformsTroubleshoot HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, motors, and industrial networksPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on automated equipmentRead and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs, and technical drawingsAssist with machine startups, installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projectsWork closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to improve uptime and reliabilitySupport robotics systems such as Fanuc, ABB, or KUKA when applicableDocument repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment modifications within CMMS systemsEnsure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and OSHA standardsQualifications3+ years of industrial automation, controls, or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong troubleshooting experience with PLCs and automated machineryExperience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Siemens Step 7, or TIA Portal preferredExperience troubleshooting HMIs, VFDs, servo motors, and industrial communication systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logicFamiliarity with robotics, conveyors, packaging equipment, or CNC machinery is a plusExperience using CMMS or maintenance tracking software preferredAssociate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferredStrong communication and teamwork skillsPreferred ExperienceSCADA systems such as Ignition, FactoryTalk, or WonderwareIndustrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, DeviceNet, etc.)Robotics troubleshooting and programmingContinuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing environmentsFood & beverage, automotive, packaging, or high-speed manufacturing experienceBenefitsCompetitive compensationOvertime opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPTO and paid holidaysCareer advancement opportunitiesStable and growing manufacturing environmentYou should be proficient in:PLC Troubleshooting SkillsElectrical TroubleshootingPLC Programming ExperienceElectrical Schematic Reading #J-18808-Ljbffr
