Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met, and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and CMS. Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of Information Technology/Civil and Industrial Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement. Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.) Demonstrates and teaches Information Technology in a classroom setting using detailed drawings that include project specifications and cost estimates. Designs and executes engineering experiments to create workable solutions. Develops engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports. Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in Information Technology activities and modifies instructional methods to fit student’s individual needs. Continues to participate in professional development to stay knowledgeable of current developments in the Information Technology field. This includes attending seminars, workshops, and/or participating in professional learning communities (PLC). Prepares instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards, maintains equipment, supplies, and other resources and maintains inventory records in accordance with district policies and procedures. Works with staff and post-secondary institutions to develop and maintain career pathways, which prepare students for apprenticeship, certification, community college, or university degree programs. Coordinate CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state and/or national competition. Attend District PLC meetings as scheduled. Works with employers and community groups to promote and advance technical skills. Creates an instructional environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents. Meets with students and parents. Maintains complete and accurate student academic, attendance, and disciplinary records. Monitors and assesses students’ academic progress. Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, para‑educators, parents, and community members in the education of students. Instructs and demonstrates proper safety practices, procedures and standards. Collaborates in the identification, development, implementation and coordination of work‑study arrangements. Demonstrates techniques to students as a group and one‑on‑one, helping them to complete lessons, assignments, projects, and evaluations. Provides students with clear expectations, continual feedback, and logical consequences. Provides students with opportunities to expand their skills and knowledge base. Participates in field trips to post‑secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands‑on workshops. Manages inventory control including purchasing materials, supplies, equipment and tools. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Residency License(s): Required Degree Level: Bachelor’s Degree AND 24 credit hours in the Content area OR Passing the NC SBE Licensure Area Exam AND Completion of NCSBE Pre‑service Requirements AND Enroll in EPP (Educational Preparation Program) CTE Restricted License(s): Required Degree Level: Bachelor’s Examples of Related Degrees: Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering; Construction & Cabinetmaking Technology; Construction Design & Manufacturing; Cabinetmaking & Mill Work; Woodworking; Electronics Engineering Technology; Electronics Engineering; Digital Electronics; Metals Manufacturing; Precision Machining; Industrial/Process Engineering; Quality Engineering Required Years of Work Experience for the CTE Restricted route: 2 years within past 5 years Examples of Related Work Experience: Manufacturing industry demonstrated experience in the production manufacturing field; cabinetmaking / woodworking industry demonstrated experience in the cabinetmaking field or woodworking field; electronics industry demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronics components in the electronics industry; metals manufacturing industry demonstrated experience in the metals manufacturing field such as machinist work, mechanical engineering with demonstrated performance of metals machining task, or tool and dye. 40 Hour Induction beginning Year One Licensing / Certification Requirements: Technology Engineering and Design Education 820 License (acquired by successfully passing the Technology Education Praxis Exam) or Obtained the Technology Education - Project lead the Way Endorsement (6-12), prior to July 1,2018 Courses Eligible to Teach: Advanced Manufacturing I Advanced Manufacturing II PLTW Introduction to Engineering PLTW Principles of Engineering PLTW Civil Engineering & Architecture PLTW Digital Electronics PLTW Engineering Design & Development PLTW Environmental Sustainability Computer Integrated Manufacturing Position Type: Not provided #J-18808-Ljbffr Young World Physical Education
