This is a backfill, not a build-from-scratch. The team and the customer relationship already exist. What the site needs is a leader who can walk the shop floor in the morning, present to a hospital executive in the afternoon, and own the number at the end of the quarter.

Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a national clinical engineering services provider that runs the medical equipment management programs for hospitals and health systems across the United States. You report to an Area Director who oversees several site managers across the region, so the next rung on the ladder is visible from day one.

- Technical leaders with real clinical engineering depth. The hiring team wants a strong technical leader, not a general people manager.

- Managers who have led technicians in a hospital, in the military, or in a maintenance organization, and want more scope, not a lateral move.

- Operators who like owning the whole business: labor, parts, service contracts, the budget, and the relationship with hospital leadership.

- Leaders comfortable in a unionized hospital, working alongside union representatives rather than around them.

If you want hybrid days, if your management experience is in retail or outside technical teams, or if your background is dialysis-only, home medical equipment, or outside a hospital setting, this is not your role.

The hiring team was direct about what they want: "a really strong technical, clinical engineering technical leader." A flagship urban campus is where careers in healthcare technology management (HTM) get made, and this one comes with full profit and loss (P&L) accountability, hospital C-suite exposure, and a direct line to regional leadership.

You lead a team of about 17 imaging engineers and biomedical equipment technicians at a major Seattle hospital campus, with secondary responsibility for a nearby community hospital and a few outpatient clinics as needed. There is no supervisor layer between you and the team; your leadership is felt directly. Site managers at this level carry revenue responsibility in the $3 million to $10 million range.

- The full medical equipment program for the campus: preventive maintenance (PM) completion, work order turnaround, equipment alerts, and regulatory readiness.

- Joint Commission inspections and ongoing accreditation compliance.

- A P&L covering in-house labor, demand labor, parts inventory, and vendor service contracts.

- Quarterly value reviews with hospital executives, translating site performance into value the C-suite understands.

- Coaching, scheduling, and developing about 17 technical professionals, with mentoring of senior technicians and future supervisors.

- Scope-of-service expansion: spotting where the hospital needs more from clinical engineering and building the case to deliver it.

This is five days a week on-site, with no hybrid arrangement. The job is on the floor, in the shop, and in the hospital's conference rooms, and it cannot be done from a laptop. Local travel between the campus, the secondary hospital, and the clinics is reimbursed by mileage.

If your leadership years are over biomed, imaging, maintenance, or military technical teams, you are in the right lane.

Seattle is one of the deepest healthcare markets on the West Coast, Washington has no state income tax on wages, and the mountains and the water are a short drive from the hospital. For a leader relocating from a smaller market, this is a step up in scale and visibility, and the tax picture helps the paycheck go further.

- 5+ years in hospital clinical engineering or healthcare technology management. Firm requirement; dialysis-only and home-equipment backgrounds do not qualify.

- 3+ years of people leadership experience. Non-negotiable and tied to the client's quality system; leadership of technical teams strongly preferred for this role.

- Bachelor's degree in electronics, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience (exceptions reviewed case by case).

- Demonstrated budget or P&L ownership: building budgets, managing revenue and cost, and acting on variances.

- Experience in a unionized hospital or healthcare setting.

- Prior time as an Assistant Clinical Engineering Manager, Supervisor, or Senior Technician on a path into site leadership.

- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES), or Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE).

- Imaging service experience; the team includes imaging engineers as well as biomed technicians.

: $103,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
