Decatur Member Assistant

$18.56 - $21.81 per hour

CEFCU member service team members are critical to the success of the credit union. They provide a professional, knowledgeable, and caring experience when members contact us. Responsibilities Demonstrates a strong, needs-based sales and service focus as defined and measured in the Member Center and Corporate Balanced Scorecards. Determines financial needs through a strategic questioning approach, educating and cross-selling CEFCU/CEFCU Investment Services (CIS)/CEFCU Financial Services (CFS) products and services to members, while utilizing Creating Member Loyalty (CML) skills. Processes transactions, resolves account issues, and answers member questions using third‑party systems for check scanning and transaction verification. Complies with government regulations and CEFCU policies, maintains cash drawer limits, and achieves performance goals. Promotes a professional image, facilitates teamwork, demonstrates flexibility in scheduling, and contributes to office duties. Provides the highest quality member experience for internal and external members. Schedule Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:45a.m. – 5:15p.m. Friday: 7:45a.m. – 5:15p.m. Saturday: 7:45a.m. – 12:15p.m. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Saturdays are required with a day off throughout the week. Required Qualifications 0‑2 years’ customer service experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act). Completion of the formal Member Assistant Training module with required continuing education covering the Bank Secrecy Act, Identity Theft – Red Flags, Elderly Abuse/Financial Exploitation, and robbery procedures. Proficient operation and knowledge of CEFCU mainframe applications and the following third‑party systems: Teller Encore System, VSoft, Instant OFAC, OnBase, Quick Assist True Checks, Lobby Tracking, and Branch Appointments. Basic operation skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to balance Cashier’s Checks and Money Orders, and perform receptionist duties such as telephone etiquette and brochure updates. Cross‑trained as a receptionist within one year, if applicable. Preferred Qualifications Proven record of relationship building, sales, and service skills through current applicable department metrics. Thorough knowledge of CEFCU products and services. Applicable college courses and/or commensurate experience. Pay Range The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $18.56 – $21.81 per hour. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Salary is only one component of total compensation at CEFCU.
