Registered Dietician
The purpose of the Registered Dietician is to support the Medically Tailored Meals team with nutrition planning, program development and quality assurance.
Essential duties and responsibilities include conducting intake and program eligibility for Medically Tailored Meals services, conducting nutrition assessments, developing and implementing individualized nutrition plans, reviewing and monitoring all meal and/or grocery plans for Medically Tailored Meals, ensuring menu options are equally nutritious and culturally appropriate, planning and conducting routine nutrition workshops and trainings, coordinating with other agencies and providers to ensure continuity of care, coordinating medical referrals in coordination with contracted managed care plans, participating in weekly case conference meetings, participating in program and agency trainings as assigned, maintaining accurate participant records in various information management systems and generating reports as requested, maintaining and executing confidential information according to HIPPA standards, maintaining a highly detailed and organized filing system, ensuring intake and care procedures utilize harm reduction and trauma informed care principles, checking and responding to emails and voicemails on a regular basis, adhering to confidentiality standards, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, abilities and other qualifications requirements include the ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level, high degree of confidentiality, ability to endorse and promote The Salvation Army's mission, computer literacy in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook preferred, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence, excellent organizational skills, and strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks.
Certificates, licenses, registrations include a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or related field, credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), required, must possess food handler's certification, must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle, must be 21 years or older, and complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
Physical requirements include the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis, ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects, ability to reach overhead, ability to operate telephone, ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs., ability to operate a computer, ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information, and ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
$40 - $45 per hour
