Job Summary and Qualifications

This position entails all aspects of providing quality food service to patients, employees, guests, and affiliated programs which includes Patient Services and Retail. The coordinator must oversee work flow throughout the department on a daily basis while paying close attention to detail and time frames associated with meal service. The Coordinator also participates in departmental quality assurance, safety, and sanitation activities. The Coordinator will also help train staff on an ongoing basis.

What you will do in this role:

• Obtain patient meal orders and build/pass/pick up patient trays
• Ensures patient diet validation & diet compliance
• Oversees patient meal accuracy
• Responsible for training new employees on job flow & service standards
• Assist with communicating and executing new and existing department directives
• Attend department meetings and participate in the continued development of department and self
• Participate in peer selection committee of potential employees

What qualifications you will need:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to three years food service experience in a hospital setting
• Obtain ServSafe Certification within one year of obtaining Diet Coordinator job title
• Complete peer interview training within 60 days of obtaining Diet Coordinator job title
• Complete Special Diet & Allergy training, and pass competency exam within 60 days of obtaining Diet Coordinator job title
