About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU/IMC experience within the last 7 years required License: Must hold a valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment Float required if census drops Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity Description: The RN will be responsible for providing care in the PCU/IMC setting. The daily patient census is approximately 36. Patients may require telemetry monitoring outside of the ICU. The RN will interpret dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmias effectively. Skills in cardiac telemetry and IV insulin protocols are essential. Experience with various medical procedures and equipment is necessary. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Wound care and management of surgical drains are part of the responsibilities. The RN will also care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of conditions. Compliance with facility protocols and standards is mandatory. No requested time off is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment. Requested time off must not exceed 7 days for the entire contract duration. The RN should be prepared to complete required training and assessments upon hire.
