What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mining and support equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy machinery. Additionally, you will:

• Apply your High School Diploma and 3-5 years of heavy equipment repair experience to inspect and repair heavy mining and support equipment.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, powertrain components, and electrical systems.
• Service and repair braking, steering, and suspension systems.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Follow all MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before servicing equipment.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) prior to beginning work.
• Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and toolbox talks.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to obtain and maintain MSHA certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift 25 pounds or more on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to pass and participate in random drug and alcohol testing.
• Welding certification preferred
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
• Experience with OEM diagnostic systems such as CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, or similar platforms preferred
