Material Handler

Overview As a Material Handler for Ster Seating, you are vital to our success. Your time will be spent maintaining production and distribution of our products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. The ideal candidate will expedite the flow of products and components through production in an efficient and accurate manner. You will work in a brand new, light‑filled, state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility, together with a team of highly motivated and skilled team members to perform a variety of material handler activities and build our transportation seating business. Responsibilities Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. Document materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units. Handle, allocate and transfer materials needed to maintain an efficient flow of material through the operation. Support production goals with daily schedule compliance to achieve overall on time delivery. Keep designated section of the warehouse clean and organized. Maintain safe and effective storage practices. Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Demonstrate and adhere to a commitment to quality and the quality process. Participate in regular and annual physical inventory. Adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to quality, health and safety. Requirements You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you: Vocational, Trade or High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3 - 5 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred. Experience performing basic shop math calculations (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, measuring and converting decimals). Strong attention to detail. Proficient in computer systems and in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be able to drive a fork truck, sit/stand repeatedly. Able to follow verbal and written instructions, directions, and other communication in English. Able to occasionally lift to 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours a day. Able to perform in a fast‑paced, team environment, while adapting to change favorably.
