Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will work closely with the firm's partners, managers, and other team members to provide accounting, tax, and financial reporting services to a diverse client base. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, dependable, and committed to delivering excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly books and financial statements for business clients.
• Perform general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare individual and business tax returns, as appropriate to experience and training.
• Assist with bookkeeping, payroll tax filings, and other client accounting services.
• Analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Support client engagements, including compilations, reviews, and other accounting projects as needed.
• Communicate with clients to obtain financial records, resolve accounting questions, and meet reporting deadlines.
• Maintain accurate workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm procedures and applicable professional standards.
  Collaborate with team members to complete assignments accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and accounting softwares.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize deadlines, and work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client service.
• Exposure to individual and business tax returns, financial statement preparation, or client bookkeeping.
