Exciting Opportunity for Mental Health Professionals!

Job Description:


- Shift : 19:00-07:00
- Location : Kansas City, MO
- Unit Names : ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE
- Number of Beds :
- ADOL: 18 (ages 12-18)
- Serenity: 24 (lower acuity adults)
- ITU: 32 (higher acuity adults with thought disorders)
- SRAD: 16 (seniors)
- VINE: 9 (lower acuity adults)


- Patient Ratios :
- Nurses: 8 to 1
- Mental Health Technicians: 12 to 1

- Documentation System : Meditech

- Unit Staffing :
- Coverage needed for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week.
- Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in contract.


- Patient Experience :
- Adhere to ICARE Values: Integrity, Compassion, Always, Respect.
- Use AIDET communication principles: Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You.

- Required Skills :
- Assess patients' mental health status, recognizing psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral issues.
- Develop individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes.
- Administer and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring side effects.
- Provide crisis intervention with de-escalation techniques.

- Advanced Skills :
- Utilize therapeutic communication to build trust with patients.


- Responsibilities Include :
- Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms.


- Certifications Required : BLS and CPI
- Dress Code : Nurses in blue, MHTs in green or black.
