Occupational Therapist II (PRN)

Job Description Evaluate, plan and implement Occupational Therapy treatment programs for referred patients. Follow hospital and department approved policies related to documentation, attendance, education, etc. Show respect and courtesy to all staff, patients and visitors. Responsibilities Evaluation: Select appropriate therapeutic assessment tools. Upon referral complete a functional comprehensive and individualized assessment. Develop individualized treatment programs consistent with patient diagnosis, status, and goals. Establish realistic, measurable goals in relation to the patient’s diagnosis, prognosis, learning ability, physical/mental status and anticipated lifestyle. Complete evaluations per department policy and recommend necessary patient equipment and follow‑up. Documentation: Adhere to hospital/department policies. Maintain timely, legible documentation and comply with all regulatory standards. Complete charging documents accurately and promptly. Treatment: Implement the treatment plan in collaboration with the treatment team. Reassess objective findings, including pain, per department policy. Deliver care professionally and customer‑oriented. Adhere to department safety standards. Develop and adjust treatment programs to progress toward goals. Counsel patients and families regarding evaluation results, treatment plans/goals, proper ADL techniques, and home exercise. Utilize updated treatment techniques. Performance Improvement / Education: Participate in the department’s performance improvement programs and committees. Articulate outcomes and improvements. Attend educational in‑services and opportunities to advance clinical knowledge/competencies. Complete mandatory education per hospital/department requirements. Mentor and orient new associates and students as indicated. Department Operations: Accept at least one student per year according to departmental needs. Provide appropriate leadership and supervision of supportive/assistive staff. Adhere to hospital initiatives, promote time management, meet productivity standards, and use work time productively. Attend department meetings and in‑services, demonstrate professional behavior, and maintain a safe and clean environment. Follow infection control guidelines, hospital information services, Human Resource policies, and maintain adequate inventory of supplies. Promote a positive atmosphere. Population Specific: Consider special needs of various patient and caregiver populations in assessment, treatment, and program planning. Modify as needed and participate in departmental educational opportunities to increase population‑specific skills. Qualifications Education: Bachelors or equivalent degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA approved curriculum is required. Years of Experience: Prefer 1 year, but new graduates will be considered. Required Skills and Knowledge: Customer service skills and interpersonal skills. Licenses & Certifications: Certification by the AOTA and licensure in the State of Ohio; CPR certification. #J-18808-Ljbffr
