Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)

We are thrilled to present an opening for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team.

This position involves operating our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for clients at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.

This hybrid role comprises approximately 40% driving and 60% physical tasks related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include:

• Loading products and driving a Class B CDL truck
• Pulling hoses and operating control systems of manufacturing units
• Climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions
• Delivering high-quality service of bulk explosives to customers while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Local driving (1-3 hours)
• Early morning starts between 3 AM and 5 AM
• Approximately 10-12 hours of work per day
• Overtime may be required
• Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and filling fluid levels
• Safely connect and disconnect trailers
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
• Ensure compliance with handling and storage requirements for raw materials and hazardous goods
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control
• Report any unusual incidents or accidents immediately
• Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings

Qualifications and Skills

• Preferred: At least one year of experience in driving and/or handling materials
• Familiarity with DOT regulations is essential
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Attention to detail and mathematical skills for daily inventory management
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to enhance efficiency

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Lift up to 60 pounds and carry over 50 pounds of products or materials
• Load products, pull large hoses, fill holes, and climb on/off the truck
• Consistently shovel gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day
• Engage in pushing and pulling while working with equipment
• Frequent bending and squatting are required

Qualifications

• Class B CDL is required; Class A is a plus
• Tanker endorsement is preferred
• Hazmat endorsement is preferred
• Support for obtaining endorsements will be provided
• Preferred: At least one year of driving experience
• High School diploma or equivalent is required

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
• Signing Bonus: $4,500

(Salary will be determined based on the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
