Job SummaryBLUSA Defense Manufacturing is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Painter of Manufactured Parts to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for preparing, painting, coating, and finishing manufactured parts and components according to established specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, consistent, high-quality finishes and understands the importance of proper surface preparation, paint application, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Experience with industrial, manufacturing, automotive, or production painting is preferred, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesParts Preparation & PaintingPrepare manufactured parts and components for painting, coating, or finishing.Clean, degrease, sand, scuff, mask, and otherwise prepare surfaces as required.Inspect parts prior to painting to identify dirt, oil, rust, damage, imperfections, or other conditions that may affect the finished product.Mask areas that must remain free of paint, coating, or overspray.Mix and prepare paints, primers, coatings, thinners, and related materials according to established procedures and manufacturer specifications.Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using spray equipment, brushes, rollers, or other approved application methods.Maintain consistent paint coverage, color, texture, thickness, and overall appearance.Paint individual components as well as larger manufactured assemblies as required.Follow job-specific drawings, work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements.Allow parts to properly flash, cure, dry, or bake according to established procedures.Handle and position parts safely before, during, and after the painting process.Perform touch-up, rework, and finishing operations as necessary.Clean and maintain paint equipment, spray guns, hoses, booths, work surfaces, and related equipment.Properly store paints, coatings, solvents, and painting supplies.Maintain an organized and efficient painting area.Perform other painting and production-related duties as assigned.Quality ControlInspect completed parts for proper coverage, finish, color, adhesion, defects, runs, sags, orange peel, overspray, contamination, and other quality issues.Verify that painted surfaces meet established workmanship and quality standards.Identify and report defects or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Perform necessary touch-up or rework to correct finish issues.Protect finished parts from damage during handling, storage, and movement.Maintain accurate identification and separation of parts throughout the painting process.Follow established quality procedures and production requirements.Support the company's commitment to consistent, high-quality workmanship and continuous improvement.Safety & Environmental ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.Properly use respirators, protective clothing, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and other required PPE.Follow proper procedures for handling paints, solvents, coatings, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.Maintain appropriate ventilation and follow paint booth and spray-area safety procedures.Keep painting areas, floors, equipment, and work surfaces clean and free of excessive overspray, spills, debris, and other hazards.Properly dispose of paint waste, contaminated materials, filters, rags, and other shop waste according to company procedures.Report spills, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and safety concerns promptly.Follow applicable procedures for chemical handling, labeling, storage, and waste disposal.Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.Participate in company safety and training programs.Production & Shop SupportWork closely with production, machining, fabrication, assembly, and quality personnel to meet production schedules.Prioritize work according to production requirements and supervisor direction.Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and positioning parts and materials as needed.Inspect parts before beginning the painting process and communicate any concerns that could affect production or quality.Maintain adequate supplies of paint, masking materials, filters, solvents, and other consumables.Keep tools, equipment, materials, and work areas organized.Assist with general shop duties related to painting and production as assigned.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not required.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, drawings, and work specifications.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to work safely and responsibly in a manufacturing environment.Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.Ability to recognize differences in color, finish, coverage, and surface condition.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs. as needed.Ability to work around paint fumes, solvents, coatings, dust, and general manufacturing conditions while following required safety procedures.Preferred Qualifications — Not RequiredPrevious experience with industrial, manufacturing, automotive, or production painting.Experience using HVLP, conventional, airless, or other spray-painting equipment.Experience with primers, enamels, urethanes, epoxies, powder coatings, or other industrial coatings.Familiarity with surface preparation, masking, sanding, cleaning, and finishing processes.Experience reading basic drawings, work instructions, or production specifications.Familiarity with paint mixing ratios, viscosity, pot life, flash times, and curing requirements.Experience working in a paint booth or controlled finishing environment.Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.Previous experience in a machine shop, fabrication shop, manufacturing, automotive, or other industrial environment.Experience with inspection tools or basic quality-control procedures.Work EnvironmentManufacturing and industrial shop environment.Regular exposure to paint, coatings, solvents, fumes, dust, overspray, and general shop conditions.Work may be performed in or around designated paint booths and finishing areas.Regular use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when required.Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and handling manufactured parts.May require working around machinery, forklifts, overhead equipment, noise, and other manufacturing operations.Must be comfortable working with paints, coatings, solvents, and related materials in accordance with established safety procedures.Work may involve repetitive painting and
