Sr Staff CPU Software Test Engineer

Salary: $180,600 - 271,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline plus 6+ years of software engineering or related experience, or a masters degree plus 5+ years of experience, or a PhD plus 4+ years of experience.
• We require 3+ years of experience programming in languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or similar.
• We prefer 8+ years of experience in software or firmware validation.
• We prefer at least 5 years of software test engineering experience in software/firmware engineering, ideally focused on data center servers.
• We prefer strong knowledge of software/firmware test automation methods.
• We prefer extensive experience with operating systems such as Ubuntu Server, RHEL, SUSE, Windows Server, or similar.
• We prefer strong programming ability in C and/or Python.
• We prefer experience creating automated software/firmware test cases for server platforms and supporting bring-up and production software releases.
• Nice to have: prior experience with software/firmware integration across BIOS/UEFI, BMC firmware, and operating systems for x86, ARM64, or RISC-V 64-bit server platforms.
• Nice to have: strong understanding of server firmware standards, open-source implementations, and specifications for ARM64-based servers.

• We create software and firmware test plans, including requirements traceability and test coverage aligned to feature requirements.
• We design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites to verify product quality and compliance at functional, integration, and system levels.
• We manually test the customer experience for installation and deployment of Qualcomm hardware and software in mobile, compute, and automotive environments where appropriate.
• We help build quality engineering and release engineering processes with a strong focus on continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• We support production-ready software through customer use-case implementation, workload analysis, workload creation, and collaboration with other teams on bring-up, debugging, and diagnostics.
• We focus on ensuring existing operating systems and customer environments run effectively while identifying opportunities to improve power and performance.
