Computer Aided Design Supervisor

Position Title: CAD Supervisor

Onsite/Remote: Fully onsite for first 90 days; transitions to 4 days onsite / 1 remote once ramped up

Salary: $95–110K + 8–9% bonus

Technologies/Skills Required – Top 3:

1. 2+ years of supervisory/people management experience - this is weighted more heavily than technical CAD ability and is an absolute requirement
2. Enough CAD exposure to be credible with the team and evaluate their work - not deep hands-on production skill, but enough "to be dangerous and keep the team honest"
3. Project management and process improvement experience, ideally with exposure to electronic lifecycle/change management systems (they run this through SAP)

Preferred but not required:

1. Degree in CAD, Design, or Engineering - certifications are acceptable in place of a degree
2. SAP PLM and/or SolidWorks familiarity

Typical Day to Day: This role has two core pieces. First, managing the standard engineering change process - overseeing maintenance updates to existing products and keeping new product development projects on track through resource/task assignment (the release side sits with a separate team, though this role collaborates closely with them on new product releases). Second, maintaining and documenting the CAD department's design standards to keep the team consistent. The CAD Supervisor will directly manage 7 people and work alongside a peer team lead who manages 5, across a 12-person CAD team that's a mix of seasoned high performers and a few more entry-level members. Reports directly to Sam.

Years' Experience/Degree Requirements/Certification: 2+ years of supervisory experience required (non-negotiable, weighted above technical CAD skill); CAD/Design/Engineering degree preferred, certifications acceptable in lieu of degree
