Senior Accountant

Accountant (Senior Level)Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an Accountant (Senior Level) with a multinational science and technology company in Torrance, CA. This is a 2-month contract with a potential for extension.Pay: $50.00 - $55.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.Schedule: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm (flexible) 100% onsite in the beginning. Possibility for hybrid work once the training phase is completed and with prior manager's review and approval.Description: Establishes and maintains the general accounting reporting and practices for the organization. Manages and analyzes financial information to prepare necessary journal entries and reconciliations to accurately state ledgers and financial statements in accordance with regulation (e.g., GAAP). The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, strong knowledge of accounting principles, and excellent attention to detail.Duties And Responsibilities:Performs month-end close including general ledger journal entries, consolidation, and account reconciliations in conformance with SOX and GAAPReviews and processes Intercompany/Intracompany transactions and completes reconciliationsTakes ownership and serves as Coordinator for both cash and tax journal entries by working in collaboration with AR, AP, and TaxActively participates in variance analyses activities and preparation of statistics during month & quarter-end close processAnalyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying informationThinks through and analyzes complex problems, challenges and drives to root causeAnswers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting dataSupports internal auditors with requestsProtects organization's value by keeping information confidentialMaintains financial security by ensuring strong internal controlsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities internal and external; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsPerforms Ad hoc reporting and other month-end tasks and duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills And Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA PreferredA minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with exposure to other business functions, preferably in a corporate setting and with increasing levels of responsibility.Proficient in Excel – Pivot Tables / V-lookupStrong knowledge of Accounting principles (GAAP), Reporting Skills, & SOXMicrosoft D365 experience a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail; is committed to excellence and understands how daily work impacts the customerCurious mindset and committed to continuous improvementPrioritizes effectively, acts with speed and agility as new information emergesMotivated by the challenge of new work; comfortable with ambiguity; proactively seeks answersBuilds effective relationships with coworkers and ManagerConveys a professional demeanor in any situationSeeks or provides help when needed and is open to new challengesTeam player and works collaboratively across the business for maximum impactPrimary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
