The Speech Language Pathology (SLP) will provide speech and/or language services in the school setting for students who have been identified as having speech and/or language disabilities which interfere with the child’s ability to derive benefit from the educational program. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders, Communication Science or Speech Pathology preferred. Equivalent preparation (21 hours in five speech/language areas, 25 hours of observation and 25 hours of clinical assisting or practicum) may be considered. Certification: Eligible for Substitute Teaching Certificate; MO Teaching certificate preferred. Other: Effective human relations and communication skills. Preferred: Undergraduate degree in special education. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist Speech Language Pathologist with the implementation of IEPs, screening and documenting progress; and other activities such as early intervening services and language-literacy activities with non-disabled students. Conferences with parents and school staff on a regular basis. Complies with all district rules, regulations and policies.
