Responsibilities include engine, transmission, air brake, steering, suspension, and electrical system work, as well as performing inspections, documenting defects, and communicating repair details. Responsibilities Perform all duties in the station shop maintenance program, including minor repairs to seat cushions, seat backs, relining brakes, replacement of differentials and transmissions. Execute high‑precision work and read diagrams, shop manuals, and bus drawings. Carry out inspections for all types of buses following written instructions. Diagnose electrical circuit problems, adjust or replace electrical components, including voltage regulators, relays, and minor wiring repairs. Replace hoses, brake components, chassis, air and hydraulic components, and change mounted tires. Repair spindle kingpins or bushings, replace steering box components, and adjust and replace parts for air‑conditioning units. Perform body replacements such as radiators, transmissions, surge tanks, engines, A/C evaporators, and passenger doors; temporary body patch repairs as needed. Replace side and rear glass or framed glass units; limited engine adjustments to attached units. Conduct welding required for component replacement and safety maintenance, as trained. Make road calls or exchanges when required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred. 5+ years of automotive or diesel technology experience. Knowledge of automotive and diesel systems, including diagnostics, repairs, and electrical systems. Minimum age 21; able to pass a drug and alcohol screen; able to obtain required DOT certification.
