Summary The Physical Therapist organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs with the goal of restoring function. The PT attempts to prevent disability following disease/injury, while helping the patient reach his/her maximum performance and learn to live with the limits of his/her capabilities. Salary $15,000 Sign On Bonus Responsibilities Diagnostic Testing – administer basic and complex diagnostic tests and evaluations in the area of Physical Therapy for the treatment of mobility disorders and related impairments. Education – teach and supervise graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents; develop or contribute to innovative programs to enhance patient care; serve as resource consultant to other clinicians in the specialty area. Evaluation of Care – analyze results of diagnostic and/or therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and modify subsequent treatment programs; identify expected patient outcomes; communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care. Implementation – select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services; provide habilitation/rehabilitation and maintenance of persons with mobility‑related impairments; organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs. Outreach / Community Involvement – serve as resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals; present at local or state level, participate in community health screening and events; participate in the development of new clinical programs to meet emerging needs in conjunction with the clinical specialist and/or department director. Participation – contribute to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings and in‑services. Quality – maintain valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress; participate in quality improvement initiatives with the clinical specialist and other healthcare professionals; participate in continuous quality improvement efforts in conjunction with the department director. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program; bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina. Professional Experience Requirements: Successful completion of supervised clinical internship; 4 years of experience.
