Academic Tutor and Mentor

As an Academic Tutor and Mentor at City Year, you will support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partnership with teachers and school staff. In this full-time role, you’ll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, reinforce classroom instruction, and monitor student progress. You’ll serve as a mentor and role model, fostering positive relationships and encouraging strong attendance and engagement. Working within a diverse AmeriCorps team, you’ll contribute to a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on educational equity, leadership development, and continuous learning while gaining valuable professional experience in education.
