Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children and contribute to a brighter and healthier future for all.Summary:This job is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) Department and for serving as a daily advocate for the customers served by the HIM department, and for overseeing the coordination of service delivery.Responsibilities:* Knowledge of medical record practice, policies and procedures, general medical records maintenance, and knowledge of applicable TJC standards, as well as federal and state laws and regulations.* The ability to hear and communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone and in person, as well as demonstration of good written and verbal communication skills.* The ability to interact with peers, executive and medical staff and other customers in an effective manner that positively represents Children's Health System of Texas.* Evaluates the impact of innovations and changes in programs, policies and procedures.* Recommends new and revised procedures to ensure the proper collection and maintenance of medical information to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.* Manage workflow among all staff to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards are met. Prioritizes work to ensure completion of HIM functions. How You’ll Be Successful:WORK EXPERIENCEAt least 5 years Supervisory experience, project management, or coding/data integrity required Previous HIM and Release of Information experience preferredEDUCATIONFour-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare profession requiredLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSRegistration as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or comparable certificate required upon hire A Place Where You BelongWe put our people first.
