Job Description:

- Work in a state-of-the-art 162-bed acute care facility, featuring a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a designated trauma center.
- Relish in the charm of San Luis Obispo, just 15 minutes from beautiful Avila Beach and Pismo Beach.
- Take on a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and providing critical patient care in an intensive care setting.
- Lead and supervise ancillary personnel, ensuring high standards of practice within the team.
- Apply your critical care nursing skills to manage patients with multi-system failure, neuro trauma, respiratory failure, and hemodynamic instability.

Qualifications:


- High School Education/GED or equivalent required.
- Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Completion of a Critical Care Nursing course required.
- Minimum of six months critical care experience preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of practice is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification are mandatory.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department.

Essential Functions:


- Deliver appropriate nursing interventions in both stable and emergent situations.
- Competently perform routine nursing skills, including medication administration and intravenous therapy.
- Ensure the safe operation of medical equipment used in the critical care environment.
- Demonstrate expertise in ECG interpretation and management during life-threatening emergencies.
- Manage patients requiring ICP and ventriculostomy monitoring with confidence.
- Stay knowledgeable about alarm settings and monitoring best practices.
