Job Details Location: 2174 Gladstone Ct, DuPage, IL Job Id: 1172 Number of Openings: 1 Supervisor: Program Supervisor Overview Family Focus is a partner in building strong families across Chicago and Northeast Illinois, supporting families and children through emergency assistance, immigration programs, child welfare services, family support services, educational programs, and more. With 11 centers around Chicagoland, we aim to expand our reach and serve more families. Job Summary The Bilingual Case Manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular (at least weekly) short‑term contact/support with families, providing assessment of family service needs, and linking to local community resources to prevent or remedy problems that may result in neglect or abuse of a child. The role involves family‑centered and strength‑based interventions directed at establishing a trusting relationship. Services focus on family reunification, strengthening, safeguarding families, preventing substitute care placement, and ensuring children's safety and well‑being. Responsibilities Conduct initial family assessments. Ensure the safety and well‑being of children by delivering required services. Support families in resolving challenges that may increase risk to children. Conduct weekly home visits to support families and assess factors impacting child safety and well‑being. Identify, research, and regularly update community resource information to ensure referrals are relevant, accessible, and aligned with family needs. Direct intervention to help reduce risk and teach strategies for avoiding risk in the future. Verify families’ linkage to community resources, including documentation that the family has received and connected to the resources. Manage the client waitlist by triaging individuals to active caseloads based on urgency and need. Deliver short‑term services to support parents in maintaining safe, organized, and clean home environments. Connect clients to appropriate medical services based on identified health, safety, and risk needs. Provide advocacy services to families with public systems such as DHS/TANF, public schools, and others identified through family assessment. Maintain records and statistics required by the agency, state, and other funding sources and make suggestions for revision or review. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, social services, or a related field. Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to speak the primary languages of the clients. Maturity and experience working successfully with children (0‑17 years) and their families. Understanding of child development and the dynamics of parent‑child relationships. Ability to approach families from a strength‑based model and a family‑centered service model. Availability to families after‑hours on an emergency basis. Ability to establish and maintain personal/programmatic boundaries while providing supportive services. Experience working with culturally diverse communities and sensitivity to cultural appropriateness. Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally for home visits and connecting families to services. Benefits Full‑time exempt position with a salary of $50,000 per year.
