CNC Machinist - 1st Shift

Summary: Plan and perform various CNC turning and milling operations to machine a variety of metal parts. Essential Functions: * Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines * Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, specifications, and blueprints * Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers. * Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations * Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines * Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machine work * Check part to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled * Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency * Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter * Maintain records and documents in-process inspection data as required * Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision * Adhere to standards of safety and housekeeping standards * Operate and measure machine * Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications & Experience: * Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data * High School Degree or G.E.D * 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level * Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization * Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions * Must have strong attention to detail * Ability to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines. * Ability to read and understand engineering work instructions. * Ability to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerances. * Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and tools * Knowledge of machines codes and G codes. * Ability to travel domestically - 5% max Physical Demands / Work Capacity Evaluation The essential functions of this position may vary based on specific assignments, work locations, and operational needs.
