Cash Application Specialist

Job Title: Cash Application Specialist  Location: Boca Raton, FL 

Pay Rate: $22.00 / hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM 

Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary with potential for Permanent conversion for the right candidate

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our Finance team in Boca Raton. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations by processing payments, reviewing refunds, reconciling accounts, and supporting customer service and BPO teams. Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.

• Experience: 1–2+ years of hands-on experience in cash applications, account reconciliations, or payment processing.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.

• Key Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, numerical accuracy, ability to meet strict daily deadlines, and effective written/verbal communication skills.

• Preferred: Knowledge or background in insurance consumer premium receivables is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Payment & Refund Processing: Accurately post policyholder payments into the administration system, review system-generated refunds, and manage bank correspondence.

• Customer Inquiry Resolution: Respond to customer service requests regarding voiding and reapplying funds, cash investigations, credit card voids, chargebacks, expedited refunds, and voiding/reissuing checks.

• Account Reconciliation: Analyze aged Accounts Receivable (A/R) balances for potential write-offs and resolve complex billing discrepancies.

• BPO Collaboration: Handle escalated queries and assist our offshore Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team.
