Director of Platform Engineering

Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python (Golang a plus)) Hybrid: 2 days in office / 1 day remotely per week in Sunnyvale, CA Responsibilities Determine how to integrate firewall management security frameworks into the existing ecosystem using Go / Golang. Work in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) focusing on networking aspects of the tech stack. Build and deploy APIs, and ensure they meet scalability and security requirements. Own product and technology initiatives with significant visibility and accountability. Define, execute, and own the roadmap for the newly launched SaaS Insights product. Drive the strategy, design, and delivery of AI‑powered product capabilities, leveraging agentic workflows and large language models (LLMs). Champion the adoption of Agentic AI and LLMs across engineering to boost productivity and accelerate innovation. Collaborate with leaders across engineering, operations, product management, and other functions to guide roadmap direction and customer feedback integration. Ensure the correctness, scalability, and modularity of architecture and implementations while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and security best practices. Grow and develop a top‑tier engineering team, working closely with senior technical leads and cross‑functional leaders. Manage milestone gates to ensure feature completeness and quality, balancing business priorities with deadlines to deliver on time for enterprise customers. Play a critical role in product planning and business strategy at a senior executive level. Qualifications 10+ years in roles of increasing responsibility and technical leadership, managing 10+ full‑time engineers in a global environment. Strong, hands‑on experience building and delivering scalable, cloud‑native enterprise SaaS products and services. Proven track record of taking enterprise software products from inception through to successful customer delivery. Hands‑on experience with AI/ML system design and production deployment, including prompt engineering, data pipelines, observability, evaluation frameworks, and cost/performance/latency trade‑offs in production LLM‑powered applications. Experience designing, building, and shipping AI‑assisted products with real‑world use of large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflows. Experience with modern public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), containerization and orchestration technologies, and DevOps tools and best practices. Experience developing and supporting enterprise software in regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, PCI) is highly desired. Outstanding interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement leveraging AI. BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
