Member Specialist

Under the general supervision of both Assistant Branch Manager and/or Branch Manager, the Member Service Representative performs a variety of duties necessary to provide quality, efficient service to the members of the Sharon Credit Union. Must follow effective branch operation in conformance with the established Credit Union policies, procedures, and objectives. Qualified professional individual must have the ability to cross-sell SCU's various products and services to our members.

Member Service Representative must be a motivated individual with the ability to promote credit union membership. The appropriate candidate must be responsible for implementation of operational policies and procedures. In addition must be able to work as a team player as well as independently.

This is a full-time position. Currently evening and Saturday hours are required.

Member Service Responsibilities

• Provide professional appearance in both dress and conduct in which to represent the Sharon Credit Union
• Knowledge in all aspects of system applications
• Responsible for member account confidentiality and privacy - Maintain and secure credit union and member information
• Comply with all policies and procedures for department
• Ability to cross-sell SCU's various products and services
• Greet and assist members with quick and prompt professional service
• Open, close, and maintain new accounts and consumer loans
• Answer questions regarding member inquiries related to deposits, withdrawals, payments, loan information, savings bonds, and negotiable instruments
• Identify members needs through active listening
• Must maintain skills in both organization and time management
• Make referrals to other departments as necessary
• Actively promotes and demonstrates SCU's mission and vision statements
• Answer routine member inquiries and print out statements if requested
• Process stop payment forms on checks
• Answer member phone calls and provide follow-up as necessary
• Update/alphabetize/file signature cards as needed
• Other duties as may be required

Requirements

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years in Retail Banking and/or Credit Union experience. Teller background preferred.
