Requisition No: 877515 Agency: Department of Transportation Working Title: ASST CONTRACT SUPPORT SPECIALIST - 55005414 Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 55005414 Salary: $21,357.97 - $27,639.72 Posting Closing Date: 06/17/2026 Job Overview This part‑time role is located at FDOT District Three Headquarters in Chipley, FL (1074 Hwy 90, Chipley, FL 32428). The position supports the Project Administrator by reviewing assignments, verifying field computations, and managing contract changes in accordance with FDOT standards and the Construction Project Administrator Manual. Responsibilities Assist the Project Administrator in reviewing highly technical assignments in engineering and verifying field computation books and plan quantity items. Identify major items of work and verify accuracy of quantities for all items of work. Ensure that all pay items have proper backup and are completed according to the Plans and Standard Specifications. Provide directions to inspectors on format and method of measurement for calculating quantities to be paid on monthly estimates. Follow the Basis of Estimates, Special Provisions and other Final Estimate manuals as appropriate and keep up to date with Final Estimate procedures. Drive to and from construction project sites in a state vehicle. Develop Work Orders and Supplemental Agreements required to revise contracts for language, time and/or money changes. Review, summarize and analyze time and material records for contractor claims following a Notice of Intent to Claim. Oversee coordination and processing of monthly estimates to contractors and update project time spreadsheets. Create and maintain Maintenance of Traffic Logs and Erosion Control Logs; manage joint project agreement daily reports and quantities. Maintain and check field books; track and maintain shop drawing submittals and approvals. Coordinate with the Office of Information Systems and District Construction to resolve site‑manager problems and keep stakeholders informed. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge Of Concepts, terminology, principles and techniques of drafting, surveying, architecture, and/or other engineering related areas. Licensure & Other Job‑Related Requirements Certification in Final Estimates LevelI through the Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) is required. Must obtain within six (6) months and maintain thereafter. ClassE Driver’s License required. Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent; 2 years’ experience in a related field can substitute for the high school diploma or its equivalence.
